The smallest living shape

This shape arises quite often, so it’s worth memorizing. It is easy to do so, because there are not many variations. However, you can learn much from it, for example the Oshitsubushi Tesuji (which can be applied in many Tsumego puzzles). Also, there is a hidden Kō, that many players don’t know.

When you know this shape, you will find that you can apply it a lot. You’ll gain confidence from knowing that your group is alive, and you’ll find great satsifaction when you can play the Kō!
